Remember When Doctors Made House
Calls? Nowdays, Flight Instructors Do!
I currently serve a variety of
airports in the Grand Forks region. I'm available to fly in
YOUR airplane or any of several
RENTAL airplanes in the
region. I do charge an additional fuel fee to
cover my gas for the trip from Grand Forks to your location.
The only
airport I Do Not serve
is the Grand Forks International Airport*. Why not? See
below .
Why not train at the
Grand Forks International Airport? The short answer
is that they don't allow independent flight instructors. I
have tried for years to obtain a permit, and have been told that the
airport does not issue permits and has not intention to. To
charge for instruction without permission is a violation of their
airport rules. I've been told there are only three
options: 1. Go to work for my competition. 2.
Construct a full-blown training facility. (Which I don't think would
be economically viable considering all of their
restrictions) 3. Stay away.
I chose the third option, and I
must say, I'm glad I did!
Q: What if my plane is based at
GFK?
A: Simple. Fly your plane
to a neighboring airport, such as Larimore or Crookston and meet me
there.
